Above the Old Port of Bermeo stands the historic Ercilla Tower, declared a National Monument, and whose walls have enclosed the rooms of the Fisherman’s Museum since 1948. This is one of the few museums in the world dedicated exclusively to showing visitors the environment, life, work and techniques of fishermen. In this museum you can see aspects related to the description of the Basque coast and fishing ports; the life and customs of the fishermen, their union organizations; the boats and techniques they have used over time for fishing and navigation.
